Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Portrait AI collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS application (the “App”). We designed the App to handle your photos with care and transparency, following Apple App Store requirements.
Summary
- Photos you select: Processed to generate edits you request. Selected photos, optional reference photos, and prompts may be transmitted to Portrait AI’s secure server and AI service providers to create results.
- No IDFA or cross‑app tracking: The App does not collect the IDFA and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
- Limited app events: We may measure app events such as launches, paywall views, purchases, and generation status to improve reliability and understand advertising performance. Apple may also provide crash/diagnostics if you opt in at the OS level.
- Local storage: Generated results are stored on your device so you can view and export them. Thumbnails may be cached to improve performance.
- Cloud processing: To produce results, the App sends your selected photo(s), optional reference photo(s), and prompt(s) to our server for AI processing, then returns image URLs for download. See “Cloud Processing” below.
Information We Collect
Content you provide. When you pick a photo and submit a prompt, the App will process that content to generate results. Depending on the feature, this may include your selected photo, optional reference photo, style choice, prompt text, and generated output. Processing may occur on your device and/or via our server.
Usage and device data. We may collect limited app events such as launches, paywall views, purchase events, generation status, product identifiers, template identifiers, coarse device/app information, and technical request data. Apple may provide aggregated crash reports and diagnostics if you have opted in on your device (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements).
On‑Device Storage
Generated images you choose to keep are stored in the App’s private storage and may be cached as thumbnails to speed up browsing. You can delete results from within the App; doing so removes the file from your device’s app storage. Deleting the App also removes all locally stored data.
Cloud Processing
Portrait generation uses a secure processing service hosted by us. When you request a portrait, the App transmits the selected photo(s), optional reference photo(s), and prompt or style choice to our server over an encrypted connection. Our server may send that content to AI service providers that process it on our behalf to generate the requested image. The server then returns a download link (e.g., a secure cloud storage URL), and the App downloads the result to your device.
- Purpose: Provide the requested image generation/editing.
- Transmission security: TLS (HTTPS) in transit.
- Storage: Result files are stored in secure cloud storage to enable delivery to your device. We do not use your photos, prompts, or generated results to train models or for advertising.
- Retention: We maintain generated result files for service delivery and reliability, and we routinely purge older files. If you need a specific file removed sooner, contact us with the link.
Sharing and Service Providers
We use reputable service providers to operate the App, including cloud hosting, secure storage, AI image generation providers such as Google Cloud/Vertex AI and OpenAI, and app event measurement providers such as Meta. These providers may receive selected photos, optional reference photos, prompts, style choices, generated outputs, app event data, and technical request data only as needed to provide the requested portrait generation, service delivery, reliability, and advertising attribution measurement.
These providers process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your photos, prompts, or generated results for advertising.
Advertising and Tracking
The App does not show third‑party ads, does not collect the IDFA, and does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. We may use limited app event measurement to understand advertising performance without collecting the advertiser identifier.
Your Choices
- Photos permissions: You can change photo access in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.
- Delete local data: Remove images within the App or delete the App to remove all local data.
- Cloud deletion requests: If you want a server‑hosted result removed sooner, email us the link so we can locate and delete it.
Security
We use industry‑standard safeguards to protect information during transmission and while stored. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the App.
